Traffic Lights

Traffic Lights

This game is a fantastic game! The kids love it. What is amazing if this game is depending on what your training session you can easily adapt this game to that! For example:
Game setup

  • Setup a good sized pitch for the number of players that you have
  • Each player must have a ball each

Playing the game:
The coach will start to call out different coloured lights:
  • Green light - run with the ball (lots of little touches, not big kicks and chasing after the ball!)
  • Yellow light - walk with the ball (lots of little touches)
Red light - STOP! And put your foot on the ball
  • CRASH!!!! - the Player jump on the floor, kicking, waving AND most importantly SCREAMING!!!!!
Top tip: Change the lights slowly to begin with but speed this up. Make the Player work!

After some time, add in some new coloured lights of your choice, for Example:

  • Purple light - Player change direction
  • Blue light - try a skill, it can be anything, step overs, drag back, the floss! Anything!

For advance players
As a coach you can adapt this gamer to your age group, change the rules for the colour of the lights or add in more colours to focus on specific areas e.g certain skill moves. For example:

Orange light : Step over
Pink light - Scissors
While light - Cryuff turn
Blue light - Inside out skill
Purple - Elastico
