How to join Molesey Juniors

About the club and how we operate

We are a community club, run entirely by parent volunteers, so football is affordable and accessible for all. We are an FA Charter Standard Club, England Football 2-star accredited and all of our coaches are at least FA Level 1 qualified. It's a great local club to play for, and your child will get lots of playing time as we generally have smaller squad sizes.

Boys football
Boys in Reception and Year 1 may join Mini Moles boys. Towards the end of the season in Year 1, boys who are keen to continue playing for the club are then put into teams, generally in similar ability groups. If a child wants to join once they're already in Year 2 or Year 3, it can be very difficult as there's unlikely to be much movement within a season (i.e. most of the boys in a team stay in that team for the whole year unless they leave the club, or move away).

Therefore, most of the older teams will have been together since a young age. However, there is a need to take on new players every 2 years as the playing format expands. So there may be opportunities for boys to join at the end of Year 3, Year 5, Year 7 and Year 9, and we will advertise this on our website at the appropriate times.

Girls Football
Girls in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 may join Mini Moles Girls. In the 2024-25 season we have U8, U9, U10 and U12 Girls teams, and
are keen to start up even more! If you'd like your child to play and could volunteer some time we would be happy to help get a team up and running. We will support you all the way through to gaining your F.A. Level 1 Coaching badge.

Joining a Team
We have grown from 27 teams in 22-23, to 35 teams for the 2024-25 season, but despite this we are still highly oversubscribed at nearly all age groups and have to operate a waiting list. The reality is, your child is unlikely to gain a place, especially between U7-U11, unless you, or another parent, steps up and offers to coach a team.

Volunteering
Please consider volunteering. First and foremost, it's hugely beneficial to your relationship with your own child, as they see you investing in them and getting involved in their life on a regular basis. You're also giving something very valuable to the local community and some of the kids you coach now will remember you for life! Football experience/ knowledge is useful, but we do provide training and mentoring and, especially at Mini Moles, enthusiasm is more important at this stage. This isn't just for the Dads, so Mums please step forward too!

Mini Moles
Mini Moles and Mini Moles girls can usually accept players throughout the season, until limits are reached. Click here for more information.

The Waiting List
Everyone who submits an enquiry will automatically be added to the waiting list. If/ when coaches need new players, they will contact you to come along and trial for a team.  Children who live in Molesey will be given preference above children not living in the area.

At the end of each season the waiting list will be cleared and started again in September.

Click below to submit an enquiry and join the waiting list. NB: we will not contact you unless a space is available.
