Want to play for Molesey Juniors?

The 2021-22 season is over and training has now stopped until September. Registration will begin again in July and we are not operating a waiting list pre-season. Please only get in touch if you are looking to join U8 boys, U10 girls or U16 girls.

About the club and how we operate

We are a community club, run entirely by parent volunteers, so football is affordable and accessible for all. It's a great club to play for, and your child will get lots of playing time as we generally have smaller squad sizes.

Boys in Reception and Year 1 may join Mini Moles boys. Towards the end of the season in Year 1, boys who are keen to continue playing for the club are then put into teams, generally in similar ability groups. If a child decides they'd like to join once they're already in Year 2 or Year 3, it can be difficult as there's unlikely to be much movement within a season (i.e. most of the boys in a team stay in that team for the whole year unless they leave the club, or move away).

Therefore, most of the older teams will have been together since a young age. However, there is a need to take on new players every 2 years as the team size expands. So there will be opportunities for boys to join at the end of Year 3, end of Year 5 and end of Year 7 and we will advertise this on our website at the appropriate times. For example we are currently looking for more U8 boys - current Year 3.

Girls in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 may join Mini Moles Girls. This year, we will have our first U8 team (current Year 2s) starting in September. We will also have an U10s team for girls currently in Year 4 and an U16 team for girls currently in Year 10.

Very occasionally, exceptional players can 'play up' in the age group above, but it's not possible to play in the age group below (i.e. a child in Year 3 cannot play for a team in Year 2). It's also worth considering if your child is out of age group at school (i.e. a summer born child who joins the year below their peers). They would not be able to play with children from their class or year group, but would be able to play with a team in the year above.

Despite having 26 teams signing on for the upcoming season, and around 400 children playing for the club, we are highly oversubscribed and have to operate a waiting list for nearly every age group.

The reality is, your child is unlikely to gain a place unless you, or another parent, steps up and offers to coach a team. Please consider volunteering. First and foremost, it's hugely beneficial to your relationship with your own child, as they see you investing in them and getting involved in their life on a regular basis. You're also giving something very valuable to the local community and some of the kids you coach now will remember you for life! Football experience/ knowledge is useful, but we do provide training and mentoring and, especially at Mini Moles, enthusiasm is more important at this stage! This isn't just for the Dads, so Mums please step forward too!

We are also keen to start up more girls teams. At present we have Mini moles girls, for girls in Reception up to Year 2, U8s, U10s, and U16s. If you'd like your child to play and could volunteer some time we would be happy to help get a team up and running. We will support you all the way through to gaining your F.A. Level 1 Coaching badge.

Mini Moles and Mini Moles girls can usually accept players throughout the season. Registration is closed at the moment but you can start registering for the new season in July - keep an eye on the website.

How to Join
The following age groups are looking for players- please get in touch using the form below:
U8 Boys, U10 Girls, U16 Girls (specifically Central Defender and Central Midfielder).

All other teams are full and not looking for new players and the waiting list is currently closed.

We do not currently have U13, U14, U15, U16 or U17 boys teams.

Mini Moles registration is currently closed and we are not operating a waiting list.

The Waiting List
Children will be added to the waiting list in the order the enquiry was received. When coaches need new players,
they will contact you to come along and trial for a team.

A child whose parent has volunteered to help coach will be given 1st preference.

A child whose parent has volunteered to help in another capacity will be given 2nd preference.

Children who live in Molesey will be given preference above children not living in the area.

After this, children will be invited to trial in the order the enquiry was received.

At the end of each season the waiting list will be cleared (we will check if you want to remain on it) and started again in September.

Contact us using the form below if you have read all of the above and are looking to join a team that is looking for new players. Otherwise, please use the general contact form.

As a local community club we reserve the right to prioritise children attending schools in the local area.
