Joining Molesey Juniors

What to expect: A guide for parents and carers
Picture
Training

Training is organised by each individual team, so please talk to your coach. Usually, it takes place on weekend mornings or evenings in Molesey. In the winter months, some teams make use of sponsorship or top up fees to hire a sports hall or floodlit 4G pitch for evening training.

What to wear

Please make sure that your child has at least shin pads in order to play safely. Football boots are a must in the winter months. If they are playing on 3G, 4G or indoors, then astroturf shoes are better. In the winter months you will also need to get 'skins' or base layers.

A full match kit is included as part of your membership fee, which is ordered by the coach at the start of the season.

Away Matches

Roughly speaking, your team will play other teams in your league once at home, and once away. Your coach will let you know all the details for the match, such as meet time, kick off time, and location, however you can always check upcoming matches in the fixture list either on the home page or on your team page.

Code of Conduct

All teams are expected to follow the FA's code of conduct, 'Respect'. Broadly speaking it involves supporting and encouraging all players, not just your own team, accepting coaches and referees' decisions and not 'coaching from the sidelines'.

The Pledge of Positivity
"I pledge to be a positive supporter and create an environment where everyone can enjoy football. I will support all players involved and respect referees, coaches and other spectators."
